Yuhan USA

Brand Design

A U.S. branch of one of South Korea’s leading pharmaceutical companies with nearly a century of history. I joined the team as a designer and business operations associate, contributing to both visual identity and corporate communication. My work encompassed presentation decks for business meetings and conferences, company souvenirs, business cards, and banners, as well as managing the company website.
Here, you can explore the business card and banner designs I created, along with the website (Yuhan USA) I managed until recently.

Business Cards

My goal in designing business cards for Yuhan USA was to help the Business Department employees and CEO connect more effectively with people—both digitally and in person. Building on Yuhan’s iconic green, a color that has long represented the company’s identity, I used Yuhan Green as the foundation of the design. Integrated QR codes link directly to each employee’s LinkedIn profile, bridging traditional and digital networking in a seamless way.

Two distinct yet harmonious variations were created to meet the specific preferences of the CEO and the Head of the Business Department. Each QR code was customized for individual employees and accompanied by their names written in Korean, drawing inspiration from Injang, the traditional Korean seal used for personal authentication—a subtle cultural nod that merges modern professionalism with heritage identity.

Design A for CEO
  • Emphasis on name and position for clear hierarchy and quick recognition.

  • Icons used to represent personal and company information, adding visual clarity and consistency.

  • A small QR code placed at the bottom-right corner, linking directly to each employee’s LinkedIn profile for easy digital connection.

Design B for Business Department
  • Slightly reduced fonts and icons removed to create a cleaner and more cohesive layout

  • Bold typography was used to emphasize the two most important pieces of employee information — email and direct phone number.

  • A larger QR placed at the right center to strengthen digital connectivity and make profile access more intuitive.

Banners

Translating Yuhan’s legacy of care and innovation into a visual narrative — where the willow tree symbolizes continuity in a new global context.

Based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Yuhan USA operates under the Business Department, focusing on licensing collaborations with global and startup pharmaceutical companies. While Yuhan Corporation—one of Korea’s largest and most respected pharmaceutical firms—is widely known for its medical innovations and for its founder’s remarkable decision to return family ownership to the public in service of society, the company remains relatively new to the global stage.

The goal of the banner design was to visually convey Yuhan’s enduring commitment to social contribution through pharmaceutical innovation and care, especially when employees represent the company at international conferences, meetings, and sponsorship events. The willow tree, a long-standing emblem and key element of Yuhan’s logo, was chosen for its deep association with the company’s heritage and values. Additionally, the design emphasizes Yuhan’s Research and Development excellence, positioning the company as a forward-thinking innovator extending beyond its traditional reputation in business operations.
